Blankets

Last Friday YWAM Rustenburg distributed 30 double bed size blankets to the children in Phokeng. This week we are distributing 20 plus mattresses. We hope to add to this in the coming month, but we are grateful for this significant start at preparing the orphan children for the winter months ahead. Malachi got to skip his afternoon nap and go to work with daddy to hand out the blankets. Thank you for making this kind of outreach possible.

Derek spends at least one morning a week at the local Aids hospice visiting patients and staff and praying with anyone who will let him. This has been an incredible outlet for Derek to show the love of Christ. He has had the incredible opportunity to lead several men to Christ before they passed away.
Katie, the DTS student currently living with us, and Gemma, a young English woman helping with our projects, baked cookies today for the staff. Derek likes to bring some kind of goodies for the staff to eat and juice, newspapers and magazines for the patients.

Granny Brigade

This past week a special group of women, the Granny Brigade, came to Rustenburg to bring goodie bags for children. We have had the opportunity to see this team in our area several times over the last few years. Our Phokeng children were blessed to be added to those who were given bags and as you can see from the pictures they were delighted. We managed to snap a photo just as the little girl in pink looked into her bag and then up with joy. It was a wonderful day. The leader of the Granny Brigade outreach is 80 years young and she brought with her 13 other grandmothers who were here to show the love of Jesus (and grandmothers) and share the Word of God with children. What a blessing!
