Prayer Needs

We are getting ready for the DTS to start in July. It looks like we will have 8 or 9 students from various places around world. Our biggest needs right now are for staff and a vehicle large enough to transport all the students to outreach locations. We also need to hire someone to cook and do laundry on the base. We are so excited about the housing we will have beginning July 1st. It is at on a mountain side near our home and close to Phokeng. It's a beautiful place and we know God will use it to bless the students during their discipleship program. We greatly appreciate your prayers for these needs and your prayers of thanks for all God is doing here.

Simpson University Team

We have a team of 5 college students from Simpson University in Redding California with us this week. They have been a HUGE blessing to us and the families we work with. We hope you like the pictures of some of what they have been doing. The team has been preparing the ground for vegetable gardens at three different homes. Once completed the gardens will be 4x5 meters in size and will produce spinach, cabbage, beans, carrots, and beet root.

One of the biggest challenges at one of the sites was the rocks. This home is on the side of a mountain and it took two days of labor to get all the rocks out. The family helped out the whole time and it was great for everyone to work together. This garden will have to have a fence and mesh covering to keep the monkeys out.

This photo is of the team with Martha. From left to right is Aubrey, Eric, Bethany, Rachel, Sarah, and Martha.

On Saturday we had a one day VBS for the kids. The jumping castle was a big hit.

The kids heard several Bible stories and got to make several crafts like these lion masks. It was a lot of work for the team, but so much fun. We had 65 kids with on Saturday.

The kids got to have their faces painted and loved the attention. The team will get to spend one more afternoon with the Phokeng children this week.

One day at the Shelter was spent loving the babies and helping organize some storage areas.

It is always so great when teams come. The babies love the attention they receive and it's always fun for the grown-ups too.

Phokeng Outreach

In the last month we've been able to bring quite a few things to the orphans in Phokeng. A few weeks ago YWAM Rustenburg gave 26 mattresses to the kids. We took all the store had and hope to buy a few more in the weeks ahead. We were given a large donation of shoes and clothing and Derek took this to the children this week. Not all the little ones found a pair of shoes that fit so we plan to purchase a few pairs so that everyone recieves. The carport is finally finished and the children are already enjoying the shade it brings. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We are grateful!
