Junction Church

Derek spent all day Monday at Junction Church in Fourways with the King's Cross Training Team. For two weekends in September this church received our Big Picture training course and loved the material. Now, they have asked for the Foundations course and Derek, Matt, John, and Gill will be traveling there every Monday for the next few months to teach the Foundations material for Pastors and Teachers. Derek was so excited when he got home to share about how the pastors and elders of Junction responded to the course. Every missionary or pastor will tell you they want to make a difference. Through the hours spent teaching yesterday and in the weeks ahead a church and a community will be blessed through God's Word. I don't think there is much of anything more exciting than that!

If you are from the area, this is an incredible church with a beautiful heart for the city of Johannesburg! They have an awesome facility with a cafe and a soccer field as part of their outreach to the community. Looking for a church in the Fourways area? Visit Junction Church on Sundays at 9am.

Updates on Prayer Request

Well, it's nearly an hour later and I'm still working on uploading our newsletter so I'm going to the waiting time to give updates on several recent prayer request:

Immediate End - we are still waiting for the company to investigate. We've discovered we have no proof of anything and are simply resting in the Lord to handle this. Every week there is a new story from the company. We are praying for justice for us and honesty from the company. Thanks!

Deliverance - Martha is devastated with the turn of events in this case. She strongly feels the young man is guilty of the theft and assault has been added to the charges. Tomorrow will be another hearing to determine how things will proceed. Pray for Martha to have wisdom in how she handles things. Pray for salvation of the young man and repentance of his actions.

Drivers License - As of Saturday, I have an ID number. It couldn't be given to me over the phone but I'll go to home affairs tomorrow to get the number. From there I'm going to see if the traffic department will accept the number only and not the actual document. Pray for favor and speed in the process. In the next month, Derek will be away for two weeks to teach in the church planting school in Cape Town. At the same time I'll be teaching a group of youth pastors for a week in Rustenburg. I'm so thankful for all the friends we have to help, but I really need to be able to drive.

Khumo's House - This sweet lady definitely has the heart to run a home for children, but there is so much that needs to be put into place first. Our little D is currently with her, but the social workers want to move her to Mafikeng in the next few weeks to live in a girls home. This young girl is in such need. Please pray for God's hand upon D's life. Pray for His purposes for her and our hearts to be sensitive to the Lord and obedient to what He wants. Thank you!

Newsletter

At the beginning of the year we said we would send out two formal newsletters and try to regularly post on this blog. I think we've done a pretty decent job with the blog, but our July Newsletter is now our October newsletter and I've been waiting for the last 20 minutes to login to our contact site to upload the information. To all our family and friends who wait patiently for the newsletters, thank you so much! Derek is away in Jo'burg today with Matt and John as they teach Foundations for Pastors and Teachers and I'm determined to get it done before he gets home, if I can just get the internet to co-operate:) Blessings from Rebecca!
