About Us

Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I'm from Katy, Texas and have been living overseas for most of my adult life.  Throughout my childhood I was fascinated with world missions and God's call upon all believers to share His love and truth. After graduating from Texas A&M University (with a degree I have never used, but thoroughly enjoyed obtaining) I worked at the Still Creek Children's Ranch in Bryan, Texas. While at Still Creek I taught a group of 5th and 6th graders who blessed my life beyond my wildest imagination. Through the staff and children, the Lord showed me so much about service, love, submission, and His all-sufficient grace.

In 2000 I flew off to the Middle East to receive my training with YWAM and met my husband Derek, a South African, in the first week. In all my time praying and pondering world missions it never occurred to me that I'd marry someone from outside the USA. During our first week of training each student stood up to share a brief testimony of how God had led them to that place in their life. I'm fairly certain I fell in love with Derek in those five minutes. The first thing that struck me about Derek was his incredible love for God. The second thing was his willingness to be transparent in any circumstance if it led someone else to a deeper understanding of God's grace or deeper healing of their own hurts. After our training we officially began dating and were married just three months later.

Today, we have three beautiful children who are the delight of our home. We also have the absolute privilege of serving God in full-time missions. It is our deep desire that our lives reflect the nature of Christ and that His love would overflow from us in everything we do.

Our mission is to serve Christ and fulfill His commission and we strive to do that in a three-fold manner.

Mercy Ministries with projects focused on orphaned and vulnerable children and families in crisis. Evangelism through various outreach activity to share the Gospel. Teaching through Discipleship Training Schools, Bible studies, and other teaching programs.

Sometimes missions can get so complicated with strategies, projects, finances and expectations but God has made it very simple. We are called to love the one. Our utmost desire is to love Christ with all our hearts and in Him love each person He chooses to place in front of us.

"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10
