Derek and I have been doing outreach ministry for so long that we don't have to look very far to find projects to start, partner with, pray for, or recruit for. That's great but I learned recently that it's got a bad side too. We've been missing out on some amazing things happening in this town!!! And potential ways of getting the body of Christ connected to make a difference in our city. If I don't say it enough, we want to see this city transformed!
Two weeks ago, our mornings were filled with meetings and walk throughs of some really great ministry happening in our city. We're so excited about connecting people from our church and others we have relationship with to these new projects. Excited to see people use the gifts God's given them and connect with the greater body of Christ in the community. God is redeeming this city!!! I love it!
One place I found was Morester Kinderhuis (Morning Star Children's Home). What a beautiful centre with really terrific staff! It reminded me so much of our days with the Lighthouse Shelter. I'm looking forward to sharing the ministry with our church and with YWAM in the hopes of getting families and individuals involved. So much to be done and it all starts with loving a child!!
