We Have A Blog!

We are so excited to have this blog site to be able to share our updates and prayer requests with you. A lot has been going on lately and we so greatly appreciate those of you who are praying for us. God is opening many doors of ministry in Phokeng and opening our eyes to the need for His love, grace, and power in our community. Derek is away this week at a YWAM conference on Member Care for the base, but I’ve just returned from the airport with Katie McKeever of Texas. She is here until November to serve the Lord and attend the DTS. We are glad to have her!

This photo is of a recent school shopping trip to buy uniforms and stationary. We all had a wonderful time with these children from Phokeng as they shoped for their new clothes. We were helped by several families in Texas and one from Oklahoma to buy these things. Thank you so much!

We want to share with you a story about a little baby we recently admitted to the Shelter. Her name is Kami* and she is from a family we first met on Christmas Eve in Phokeng. Kami is four months old, but entered the Shelter last week weighing just 2.7 kg (5.9 pounds). She has already picked up nearly a pound and we are hopeful that God will continue to restore her body. Please pray for this family who have no running water, no jobs, and face many struggles. In our times with them they are very open and receptive to what we have to share. We are asking God for direction on how to best minister to them.

We have linked Martha to an organization giving her food providing 70 children with one meal a day, five days a week. We are now supplying her with extras such as vegetables and fruits. Martha is doing very well and in our Bible study times we can see she is eager for a growing relationship with God. Please continue to pray with us for the region of Phokeng. Pray for us to keep our eyes on Jesus and to obey God’s leading on how to minister to this community.

Blessings to all of you!
