Praying for South Africa

Please continue to pray for South Africa. The situation with the mining industry, social injustice, and political powers at work is escalating. After several weeks of somewhat apathy in the church, we are seeing a real awakening to the need for intercession and faith for God's purposes for our city. The violence at Marikana as spread to others mines and today more striking is expected. The spirit of intimidation is very real and crippling to those who need to get to work.

One woman we know got a call from other miners in the union saying they were at her house and her husband was not home. "Where is he," they said. "If he is at work, we are going to kill him." She immediately called her husband and asked him to hurry home quickly with the groceries so they would know he was not trying to go to work while the unions are striking.

There is a power struggle happening and the certain individuals such are using the situation for their own purposes and elevation and encouraging violence, hate, and division. Please join us in prayer for an exposing of real motives and the uplifting and authentic, genuine, Godly leaders who will fight for the needs of the people as God would have. Please for pray for deeper healing in and more love from the body of Christ.

Thousands of mining families will go without food now because of no wages. There has been no work done on the Marikana mine in weeks and with other mines shut down as well, the problem only intensifies. This is God-size problem. We need His wisdom. We need His justice to prevail and we need Him to raise up the right leaders. We are in a spiritual battle for this land and its people and we ask you to join with us in prayer for intercession.

For peace in the mining industry
For fair wages and a balancing of the scales in terms of salary/work
For Godly decision to be made from Godly leaders
Exposing of the spiritual forces at work here so the people will recognize the goodness of God.
That God would use our city has a instrument of momental change in the country.
That God would be able to use the body of Christ in our city to co-labor with Him in bringing peace to the people and glory to the Father.

Here O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one!
