Sunday night's gathering with Bri's Bible study ladies and her young adult group has simultaneously broken our hearts and brought a greater peace that truly does pass all understanding. Again and again Bri was praised for the life she led and the many amazing qualities we all loved so much, the qualities that made her truly Brianne. Bri, you've left a big hole in our hearts, a void that only proves even more the impact you've made in the lives of many. We will be holding a memorial service later this week for Bri, but Sunday nights gathering was specifically for those Bri poured her life's ministry into. Here are some of the things they said:
"Her laugh was contagious. I was unable to not laugh when Bri did, even if I didn't know what was funny"
"I remember her nails were always as bright as her smile"
"She would find out what someone really enjoyed and then connect on that. She was also sending me pictures or texting me things about that which I loved."
"She told me it was a joy to pray for me"
"She was always there for me, always positive"
"I will miss her passion for life"
"She never said anything bad about anyone"
"I would go to her to complain about someone and she'd never join in with me!"
"If I missed Bible study, she would call me to check up on me, fill me in on the class, and pray for me."
"She was truly a big sister to me"
"We would hear the girls laughing in the living room during Bible study and think that was where we wanted to be." - a parent
"No matter how late, whenever we left her house she would always text us later to make sure we got home okay."
"She always wanted to be the best she could be. She trusted in God's plan for her and wanted His will more than anything."
"She had an ability to connect people who would otherwise never even think to know one another."
There was so much more said, but the consistency and faithfulness of her testimony was astounding to hear. Derek and I have been so proud of Bri and what she has done here in Rustenburg, but we had no idea of the impact until we heard these young people. I am more proud of Bri than words can possibly express. She was an amazing girl with a heart full of sunshine and warmth and a passion for life best described by one of her closest mentors, "She was all-in." Bri has left her mark on these young people!
