Update on Women in Crisis

We had a meeting last week with several people in the community with a heart for prostitutes or other women in crisis needing skills development or urgent overnight care. The Lord has definitely burdened us lately in the area of social transformation. A city reflecting the love of Christ should have a safe place for women in crisis. Neobirth Crisis Centre has done an amazing job over the years, but they need help and it's the responsibility of the whole community and the body of Christ to meet this need.

We've got some great ideas on how to reach out to the women, but we don't want to rush ahead of God on any of it. If your heart is for women in crisis or empowering women to live the life God has for them, please join us in prayer for this very needed ministry.

Our needs our:
1) a place to interact with the women and girls (right now we are thinking to pack picnic baskets and go to the women during the morning to sit, eat and fellowship together)
2) a team of intercessors who will pray for the 2 or so ladies who visit the women on the street
3) a team of ladies to bake muffins and make sandwiches for the picnic baskets
4) a team to facilitate skills development - (we've had lots of inquiries about this -we just need to get organized and a key person to take the lead on it)
5) an overnight emergency centre - (or at least access to one nearby when the need arises)

Thank you for praying!!! God is opening so many doors for His glory to be displayed. It feels like His heart is bursting for our city and His desire to reveal His love and saving grace is so encouraging!
