Truth and Godliness

A few weeks back we hosted a retreat for women in our community. We had 45 women in total join us for an in-depth look at the book of Titus; discussing the character traits that bring credit to the gospel of Jesus Christ and much, much more. It was an incredible weekend for the ladies! I was overwhelmed at God's heart for each woman and the way He works in our lives. One of the ladies on our team repeated the phrase several times, "God's got business to do this weekend," and she was absolutely right! The testimonies from the weekend so far have been amazing, but the topics were heavy and there is a lot to walk out with the women in the months ahead.

I taught for a large portion of the retreat and my friend Sam led worship. God used her gifts to bless us all in more ways than I can say, but what struck me most about God's heart to "do business" was the fact that while I'm teaching and while Sam is leading worship, God is still busy with us! I've known it for years and it's one of the things I treasure most about teaching. I pray my heart will remain humble to every word coming out of my mouth. His heart for my good, my holiness never ceases to amaze me! At one point God was speaking so strongly to Sam I amazed she was able to keep singing. He was busy with her heart with an intense love and a strong desire for her to be the woman He has made her to be.  While sharing a message God is speaking to my heart to bring His conviction, His truth, His encouragement...all of it. He doesn't stop ministering to me and He didn't stop ministering to Sam. In the midst of worship on Saturday, God gave Sam a song that still drives me to my knees with a desire to rest in no one else but God. I know He has continued His work in the hearts of the ladies and I can't wait to meet with them again to pray, to celebrate, and to persevere in that work. He did so much in so many and I am so very grateful!!
