Enjoying Africa

On the weekends, if we don't have sport or ministry going on, we love to spend time soaking up the beauty of Africa and our little spot up in here in the Northwest is simply breathtaking. Last weekend after narrowly missing an explosion in the streets from riots we took a back road to get to the Pilanesberg game reserve with some missionary friends. We saw the usual sites of giraffe and wildebeest, but then we stumbled upon a lion kill that seemed to have just happened. It was so awesome to see how this pretty large pack of lions dug into their kill. We took another back road home and only saw a bit of the chaos happening in a rural community rioting over the chief's misuse of money. And right in our own hometown of Rustenburg we have a beautiful nature reserve with hikes and a beautiful waterfall. Over the years, this little reserve has been quite the retreat for us!
