With four swimmers and an official in our family we spend a lot of time at swim galas and with our kids' teammates. We LOVE them!! From setting up our gazebo's and packing lunches and cheering in the stands for all the kids, we love these events and the joy found in this community. South African officials up here in the Northwest are a little crazy when it comes to rainstorms and thundershowers. We see lightening and want to run for cover, but the races just keep going. At this recent gala we actually had some hail under these gazebo's. But while its pouring outside we're all laughing and talking about where we'll be going for ice-cream after the gala starts up again. Because, yes we will be returning to the races. Don't let a little hail fool ya!
