On Friday, we celebrated Christmas with the children at Martha's House and had a wonderful time. We've known these kids for years now and watching them grow up has been an incredible honor. Martha continues to amaze us in the way she interacts with every child. They all know she loves them and would do anything for them. Here's how our day went:
Don't you always see a donkey napping under a tree on your way to work?
We had nearly 100 cupcakes and every one was enjoyed!
Our Chef Master! Thank you Jordan for all your hard work. The cupcakes were delicious!
Peek a boo! Making security gates fun.
Paula, who is completely gorgeous, believes she's not photogenic. Martha and I obviously disagree and do whatever we can to get her on camera!
Hanging out on the jungle gym.
Having fun playing games and building puzzles donated by Lebone II College Foundation Phase teachers and parents. The kids have so many great things to keep them busy this school holiday!
Staying cool in the shade!
Lynette's smile says it all. Martha's House is simply a fun place to be. Rain or shine, school or holiday, food or no food children are always at Martha's House!
Telling Jesus' story with the felt board. I LOVE using this board!!
Making Christmas wreaths.
Everyone's in holiday mode! The boys were playing soccer when Tebogo arrived. I caught these two in greeting and although I couldn't hear what they were saying, I also couldn't help but delight in how happy they were to see each other.
Paula taught the kids how to cut plastic shopping bags and braid them into a chain.
There are lots of things you can do with this. Make rugs, bathroom mats, washing lines, etc.
But a jumping rope is the favorite use by these boys!
Being sassy with her Christmas wreath!
Martha and Ma'am Surprise leading the children in song and dance!
Snack time!
Making more sweet snacks! The kids loved these, but a few children handed me back the base because it had too much icing on it. Poor kiddos, probably suffering from a sugar high!
Beautiful, thoughtful, and perfect gifts from the staff of Lebone II College. Thank you to all those who made this possible!
The kids loved the gifts and cheered for each person as their name was called to the front. Afterwards we could barely drag them away from their boxes. These were some of the most thoughtful gifts we have ever been given. What a blessing!
This was a great party. The children were grateful for everything they received and everyone involved had a wonderful time. These are special children and we pray God's greatest blessings on their lives and for them to have tender hearts towards Him.
