Today we had a Christmas party in Phokeng with the children from Agnes' House. It was a great time of fellowship and we pray a blessed time of imparting the love of Jesus and the His plan for our salvation. We had so much help today and are grateful for all the work everyone did to make the day special!
Great friends enjoying the day together!
Getting the craft project ready!
Telling the story of Jesus' birth with the felt board. We pray these precious children grow in their understanding of Jesus and just how incredible a moment His birth was for the world!
Making wreaths to hang on the door. Took a while to get everyone going, but once they did the end product was amazing. I practiced my Tswana for "tear the pieces of paper" and as usual they all got quite a giggle out of my efforts.
My friend Jo leading the boys in a new ball game. Three women from my ladies Bible study and their children took part in the day with either baking, shopping, or leading games. I'm so thankful for these wonderful sisters in the Lord and their hearts to reach out to the community.
This was a great time of fellowship and creativity. Everyone was so happy with their work and just like the girls themselves, each wreath was beautifully unique.
The boys playing soccer in the street.
The finished wreaths!
Such a cutie!
Helping hands from an amazing family!
Washing up for lunch.
One of my favorite parts of any day in Phokeng! The kids wait patiently in line for their food and walk away grateful for what has been prepared. Caroline, Agnes' sister and partner in the ministry cooked from 5 am this morning to get all this yummy goodness ready. Caroline, you are amazing!
It takes a while to serve up 100 plates of food, especially when there isn't enough plates to go around and we have to wait for some to finish and wash their dishes to serve the next person. The kids and I were so hungry we kept stealing potatoes from the pot until we got a chance to eat our own lunch.
Making a crazy sweet and loving it!
Thank you Lord for another wonderful with Agnes and Caroline and the children from Agnes' House. Lord bless them and keep them safe. Make your face shine upon them. May they know you all the days of their life. May your love and power overwhelm every circumstance they face. And may they be sleeping tonight with dreams of Jesus' birth, His life, His death, and His resurrection. Amen.
