We have water!

After two days of having no water while hosting a team of students for dinner and 2 full workdays at my house we have lots of dirty dishes! I'm up at 3 am catching up on emails while my new dishwasher (thank you to my friend for such a sweet gift) does the work for me!! I can't tell you how much of a blessing that is. I'm only staying up long enough to empty this load and put another on to wash because I have a pretty good idea that we won't have water again tomorrow. Gotta fill all the bottles and jugs I can now. The students were curious as to why I was so calm about the lack of water and spotty electricity the last few days and there is no answer other than "This is Africa." Or as everyone who lives here says it "TIA". These issues are just bumps and annoyances and totally work it to live and serve here. I love Africa!

Loved reading this post. Love that you were gifted a dishwasher and the calmness in your heart that TIA is while sometimes annoying it's a part of doing life there. You embrace TIA beautifully! Love and miss you.

Thanks Julie. I'm more amazed every year at my love for this city and the country. Now I wonder, how can anyone not love this place?
